This article provides a better understanding of skin requirements and the process to successfully adding a module to a page.

Requirements

Access to the skin.ascx file that has been identified as causing issues.

Root Cause

Faulty skin.

Resolution 

Every skin.ascx file needs a div with an id equal to ContentPane since the Edit Bar requires this element in order to load the add module/ add existing module boxes on the page

Validation 

The module will successfully be added to the page.
