Overview
As an OnDemand customer, you can request a full DNN database and file backup for the OnDemand environment.
Diagnosis
There will be situations when you require a backup of your OnDemand environment and since the backend for your hosted environment is not accessible, a request to the SaaS team is required to take a backup of the database and file structure.
Solution
When you require a backup for your On-Demand environment, you will need to submit a ticket to DNN Support so that the ticket can be escalated to the On-Demand team to back up your environment:
- Find out the device name for your environment. You can try to find the required environment URL from your primary alias list. The URL format is as follows:
https://dnn######-evoqondemand.com
You can also enter your alias in a DNS checker or execute a dnslookup command in the command line nslookup yourwebsite.com and you will find the device name in the aliases. - Then provide the following information in your ticket: Device name:
Environment (Production/Sandbox):
<supportagent>
For agents, you will need to access the Self Service requests: On-Demand Customer Website Backup
You will need to input the customer's device name that was provided and then a JIRA will be created for the request.
NOTE: For the OnDemand customer PieFunds, you will need to reach out to the PCA (Vyacheslav Karbovnichy as of writing) directly through chat or email. The reason is that PieFunds are still hosted on Azure rather than AWS like the majority of OnDemand customers. The runbook works for AWS environments. You will need the PCA to manually create a database and file structure backup to provide to the customer.

Testing
You should be able to access the complete backup files that will be provided by DNN Support through an FTP link in the ticket you created.
