Visualizer URL Provider Breaks the Composite Files Functionality

Overview

At times, customers report that when the Visualizer module is added to a page, and the Composite Files option is enabled, the page cannot be edited.

This article provides the available solutions to resolve the issue mentioned above.

Information

Environment

• 9.2.x 

• 9.3.0

Requirements

1. Enable the ClientDependency Framework (CDF) Composite File function.

2. Create a new structured content item of Person.

3. Edit the homepage and add a new Visualizer module (set to Detail mode) to the page.

4. Ensure that the page editing mode is no longer available.

Root Cause

The reported issue is due to a bug in the product. Find the details in the JIRA ticket: DNN-29811.

Solution

• You can either:
  

  1. Back up the following files located in the bin folder of the DNN instance:

     • Evoq.StructuredContent.Visualizer.dll

     • DNNConnect.CKEditorProvider.dll
       

  2. Replace the above two files with their patched versions extracted from the attachment: DNN-29811.zip.
     
     

• Or

  • Upgrade the environment to Evoq 9.3.1.

Confirmation

• Repeat steps 1 through 3 mentioned in the Requirements section. The page editing mode will not be impacted now.
