Overview
After upgrading your DNN site, you may notice changes in the Site Assets functionality. The system now only supports file sorting in ascending order and does not support uploading multiple assets simultaneously or opening files in a new tab by clicking on them. These changes are due to the replacement of the previous Site Assets page with the Assets page in Persona Bar > Content > Assets, as part of the removal of Telerik components.
Solution
- For sorting files, the system currently only supports ascending order. The issue has been raised as a feature request with the Product Management team for potential inclusion in a future release. Monitor the Announcements page for updates on new releases.
- For uploading multiple assets simultaneously, the Assets module allows you to upload multiple files. Click on Select an option and select the files you would like to upload.
- To open a file in a new tab, you need to click the pencil icon to access the file URL for viewing. The system no longer supports automatically opening the file in a new tab by clicking on it.
- If the current system does not meet your requirements, consider checking the DNN Store for third-party File Managers that may offer the functionality you need.
Summary
The Site Assets functionality in DNN 9.13 has undergone changes due to the removal of Telerik components. This has resulted in the loss of some features, including certain file-handling capabilities. However, these issues have been raised with the Product Management team for potential resolution in future releases.
